Inspiration...

And new sketchbook. The best I have made so far. I don't know who this guy Cox is, but his stuff is from the 50s and I really like the patterns.

We went to Nash Point yesterday afternoon and A and I decided to take our blythe girlies for a bit of a blow too.

Vegetable bag

Made this bag with the lovely vegetable fabric I bought the other week.

This weeks inspiration

This week I am mostly being inspired by things of the insect nature. I really love old botanic illustrations, and these are particularly beautiful. I think they are by a woman called Maria Sybilla Merian.

Busy, busy, busy...

Been very busy recently. New fabrics to play with, and new ideas to try out.

Anthropologie

I really love Anthropologie, and the shapes of their clothes are just gorgeous, as well as the lovely mix of fabrics and colours.

The very lovely "Free People""

Much inspired by these...yummy. I am such a sucker for boho chic.

Fabric spree

Got some new fabrics and supplies today, so feeling inspired. One fabric has sprouts and vegetables on it, and though I don't like to eat sprouts the material is gorgeous.

Moshi-moshi wallpaperings

This is just to say thank-you to all the lovely people who have bought our clothes and said such lovely things. I started this off
a few months ago and it has quickly become something really important and special to me. So thanks everybody for your support and hope you like these. Just save the images to your desktop to use as wallpapers.

"rediscovered" inspiration

Found this lovely image I had saved while I was archiving folders on my mac. Made me think of mini-blythe clothes and gave me a few more ideas. Now all I need is some peace and quiet to get down to some serious blything.

Book projects

Recently started making more notebooks to add to the ever increasing notebook stockpile- you know just in case there is a global shortage of notebooks, in which case I am going to be laughing. Taught myself to do coptic and codex binding off the interweb. I was experimenting with some plain and some printed pages - so here are 2 examples.

Issue Calender

These are my collages for Heather's edition of 1ssue. This is an artists book project that I am joint editor of. We will soon get back 1ssue 15 from Richard and then it will be my turn. Looking forward to it.

Don't you just love Selvedge

This is probably my favourite magazine these days. The design and the layout of it is gorgeous and it always makes me want to make things. It spurs me on because of all the wonderful things other people are doing.

The marimekko image looks like good blythe inspiration to me - I like the proportions and the neisha crosland fabric print is really lovely too.

Fabric finds

Recently visited my brother and sister-in-law in London. Tomomi is Japanese and has been saving some lovely fabric for me.

Moshi-factory2

This is my workspace tidy and some of the things I like to have about me.

Moshi factory

My little workroom has been a hive of activity recently. It's a bit chilly in here at this time of year as there is no central heating in this room. Unfortunately I have the only cold room in our house. My desk space, when it doesn't have the sewing machine set up is usually to be found covered in sketchbooks, style magazines, selvedge magazines and various bits of paper and photos that I am currently finding inspiring.
